2010 was a banner year for pitching, especially with perfect games and no-hitters.
Ubaldo Jimenez got the ball rolling with the first no-hitter in Colorado Rockies history, a 4-0 win over the Atlanta Braves on April 17.
On May 9, little-known Dallas Braden of the Oakland A’s threw a perfect game in a 4-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. It was the 19th perfect game in baseball history.
On May 29, Roy Halladay of the Phillies threw the 20th perfect game, a 1-0 win over the Florida Marlins. It’s the first time two perfect games were thrown in the same season, let alone the same month.
On July 26, Matt Garza of the Rays threw the first no-hitter in Tampa Bay’s history, a 5-0 win over Detroit.
